Hello and welcome to the official website for TBM-UK, the inaugural #TwitterBikeMeet.
#TwitterBikeMeet was the idea of three very keen motorcyclists who originally met and became friends through the social media network of Twitter. The concept of the Meet was born purely from a conversation between the three and after suggesting the idea to their followers via Twitter, and due to the very positive responses received, they decided to do something about it. Robin, Damo and Simon took on the unenviable role of organising the event with the firm view of making it an annual spectacle and not just a one-off, and it seems they’ve spawned a monster...
As Robin says... ‘We wanted to organise a bike weekend for Twitter users and bike enthusiasts alike from all over the UK. Huge amounts of people use twitter to talk bikes, but many never have the chance to meet the people they chat with in person so we decided to do something about it and raise money for the Poppy Appeal and Royal British Legion at the same time”.
Over the three days of TBM there will be entertainment including live bands, the obligatory licensed bar, camping facilities, food and much more (see Itinerary) including a massed ride out for everyone on Saturday, the main event day
#TwitterBikeMeet is a totally charity-based event and it’s our intention is to raise as much money as possible for the Poppy Appeal and the Royal British Legion - plus to have a great weekend with fellow tweeters and bikers! We are sure the first #twitterbikemeet is going to be a complete success with people enjoying themselves enough that they want to return, and with that the event becoming bigger and better year after year!
For Beer, camp fires, a custom show, live music, more beer, trade stalls, fun and games including the Fire Walk, plus Le Mans-style race for bikers it really isn’t to be missed this summer. Organised by bikers, for bikers, and most importantly raising money for a great cause. Trust us it's going to be big!
#twitterbikemeet 2012 is the place to be over the weekend of 23/24/25 June, follow us on Twitter @tbm_uk and via the #twitterbikemeet hashtag to find out more in the coming weeks...
“We all hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there”
Robin, Damo & Simon
